Emergency Medical Responder Training

Emergency Medical Responder introduces the student to the EMS field. The Emergency Medical Responder curriculum consists of approx. 50+ hours of class time. The same topics are covered in Emergency Medical Responder and in EMT but in less detail. This program trains the student to perform initial, focused, detailed, and on going patient assessment. The Emergency Medical Responder also begins basic patient care (including, oxygen administration, splinting, immobilization, vital signs) and prepares the patient for transport by an EMT or Paramedic.

This course is an excellent prepatory course for students interested in becoming an EMT. Emergency Medical Responder Classes are offered when the demand for the class is high enough to generate at least 6 students with a maximum of 12 students.

To be placed on the notification list about upcoming Emergency Medical Responder training classes, contact Angie Heaton at Centralia Community College.
